Until He's Finished
An ongoing photographic enquiry into care, companionship and the lives of dogs with megaesophagus.

Until He's Finished is an ongoing black-and-white photographic project exploring the lives of dogs with megaesophagus and the relationships they share with the people who care for them.
The project began with Mila, my Rhodesian Ridgeback, who was born with the condition. His daily life involves carefully managed feeding, time spent upright in a Bailey chair and the small adjustments that have become part of our everyday routine.
Through intimate portraits and observations of daily life, I want to explore the quieter aspects of care — patience, responsibility, companionship and the relationships that develop around these routines.
But this is not simply a project about illness. It is about the individuality of these dogs, the environments they inhabit and the lives they lead beyond their condition.
The work will develop through visits to dogs and their families across the UK, with the ambition of eventually producing a photographic exhibition or book.
PARTICIPATE IN THE PROJECT
I'm looking to connect with owners of dogs living with megaesophagus across the UK who would like to participate in Until He's Finished.
Participation is entirely voluntary and free of charge. Each family will receive a complimentary photographic portrait.
The project is entirely not-for-profit, with the hope that an eventual exhibition or book will raise awareness of megaesophagus and support organisations helping dogs with the condition.
If you'd like to take part or find out more, I'd love to hear from you.
